Turning Ideas into Action: Education Hackathon in Ukraine
A new education hackathon in Ukraine is helping teachers turn training into practical, classroom-ready solutions.
Bringing together 38 educators from across the country, the two-day event focused on developing innovative educational projects in multidisciplinary teams, supported by experienced mentors. The hackathon was designed to build on the foundations of EFI’s Teacher Training Program, offering a next step for educators ready to apply new approaches in real-world settings.
The response was overwhelmingly positive. Participants rated the experience highly for both overall satisfaction and practical value, and many are already planning to launch their own initiatives. Notably, over two-thirds of participants intend to develop and implement the projects they began during the event, highlighting the hackathon’s role in moving ideas from concept to action.
By combining collaboration, mentorship, and hands-on learning, the hackathon created an environment where educators could experiment, refine ideas, and build solutions that respond directly to the needs of their classrooms.
As EFI continues to strengthen teacher development across its network, initiatives like this represent an important step forward—bridging the gap between training and application, and supporting educators to deliver more engaging, effective economic education.
